Dacia Sandero Will Be Manufactured Only In Marocco

Dacia Sandero Will Be Manufactured Only In Marocco

The best-selling Dacia car moves entirely to the factories in Tangier and Casablanca.

Renault representatives confirmed the information according to which the plant in Mioveni loses the production of the Sandero hatchback, in front of those in Morocco.

Mark Suss, manager at Renault and head of the Dacia brand, has told French journalists at L’Argus that the Sandero will change its production mix in the three plants where Dacia cars are currently manufactured. The Dacia factory in Mioveni, Argeș, will be left without the Sandero model, which will be assembled exclusively in Morocco, Tangier and Casablanca, starting with the third generation, while in Romania only Sandero Stepway will be produced, along with Duster.

According to the statements made in Paris by the representatives of the French company, when asked by Profit.ro, “other models” will be produced in Mioveni, along with Duster and Sandero Stepway. Most likely it is about the future crossover, which will take the place of the current Lodgy and which could even be called Grand Duster.

The Sandero model, the best-selling car of the Dacia brand, has moved to Tangier since the second generation, for better price management, given the fact that in Morocco labor costs are lower than in Romania. Basically, in Mioveni, Sandero was manufactured for the local market and for the markets in the region. In addition, the Romanian factory also produced some Renault Sandero models, for the markets where this car is sold under the French brand.

At the end of September, Dacia launched the new generations of Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway, which stand out through a new platform, which allows them to be equipped with new technologies, but also offers a better behavior for these cars. The three will be launched in the Romanian commercial network at the end of November – beginning of December, when the prices will be announced. One of the radical changes brought about by the new generations in Europe is Logan’s disappearance from several Western European markets, including France and Germany.

Dacia Duster VS Mercedes GLE Coupe Offroad

Although the comparison seems to be impossible, me and my cameraman Alex managed to do it in a sunny Sunday morning.

Stats comparison

These 2 cars come from very different classes and freom very different manufacturers. So the biggest difference is the price. At this time, my Duster has 55.000 KM and I think it has a value of around 16.000 Euros. The GLE on the other hand, it has around 100.000 KM with a value of 45.000 (more or less). So you can get 3 Dusters with 1 GLE:))

In terms of specs, the Duster has 115 HP from an 1.5 dCi engine, while the GLE has 249 HP from the classic 3.0 V6 engine. The curious fact is that on the body of the Mercedes there were “V8” signs as wel as “AMG” letters on the back.

I wonder why? Maybe it has the AMG visual package or the previous owner wanted to buy a V8 model but couldn’t find one:))

The GLE had summer tires on bigger alloy wheels than the Duster but the offroad trail we went on was soft and it did well all along. Just a slight problem while trying to go up a steep trail and the axles were put to test on diagonal.

The forest road we went leads to a place called Dubiusca, which is a small village in Brodina. The place is amazing, like a glade surounded by trees. I was amazed by the quietness there. No cars sound, no rush, no stress.

I invite you to watch to video, whether it’s for the GLE offroading, the Duster and the GLE or the landscapes. Enjoy!

When I Almost Crashed My Duster

When I Almost Crashed My Duster

It was a normal day when my friend/camera operator Alex decided to go and shoot another offroad video. We set up to go on a trail that he knew, a trail he went on with its Can Am Outlander ATV.

Check his channel as well, he doesn’t upload as much as me but it has nice ATV offroad videos. Here is his Youtube Channel!

As we were going up on the trail, it kept on getting harder, with higher degrees of inclination and longer climbing sections.

ESC – The Main Reason

At a certain point, there was an easier section and I don’t know why but I switced on the ESC. Or I stopped the engine and once you start it again, the ESC activates automatically. Anyway, we reached to a part where the slope was higher and even though I accelerated all the way, when the car was in its most inclined position, the engine stopped because of the ESC (it cuts off all the power and you have to stop, there is no other way). When the engine stopped, I switched the gearbox in neutral (I don’t know why) and after it started, I switched off the ESC.

It was suppose to be an easy job but I forgot that the car is in neutral and released the handbrake at the same time with the foot brake and pressed the acceleration pedal. But instead of going up, the car when backwards in an instant. Even with my fast reaction, it still stopped with the right back wheel on the margin of the road and bounced from the right front wheel on the left back wheel, being so close to roll over…

We were lucky and the car didn’t slide even more to its left side and with the help of Alex I managed to get the Duster on the right path and up. From that moment we turned back and go straight home, the offroad was enough for that day! On my way home I started wondering if the Hill Descend Control works backwards as well. Guess what! It DOES!

Offroad Chains – How to install it faster

One of the most important equipment that every offroader should have is the wheel chains. But most of us are usually delaying the use of the chains because it takes a lot of time for installing it. In order to do it faster you need a high jack to raise the hole side of the car, not just a wheel at a time.

One of the problems with the inflatable jacks at Dacia Duster was that due to the ornament they did not swell completely and air / gas escaped through the exhaust behind the ornament, as soon as the car started to rise. So the only option was to inflate them with a compressor. But from 2-3 minutes to 10 minutes, it wasn’t exactly optimal if you were in a hurry. However, on the compressor side, there is also the advantage that the compressor does not stay away from it behind the car and you can easily put it back in time.

Renault Duster vs Chevrolet Niva Offroad

I am thinking of making a video with my Duster vs a Lada or Chevrolet Niva but unfortunately, in my country the Niva is not sold and they are very hard to find.

Although the video you’re about to see is not on my channel, I’ve decided to  make a post about because I liked it ver much!

This video has it all, mud, slopes, extreme situations for the cars, forest and it’s very long. A very long journey with a Renault Duster 1 Phase 1, A renault Duster 1 Phase 2 and a Chevrolet Niva.

Enjoy it!
