The new Duster comes painted from the factory and will have two main variants: army light 4×4 transport and drone scout platform.
Dacia Duster Trails, the group of adventure enthusiasts with the Romanian SUV, announces that the car will leave the assembly line from Mioveni with a body in the specific shades of the army. Two versions will be available. One of them, reserved for transport, will have Level 3 ballistic protection according to the STANAG standard for the body and Level 2 for the windows. The shield, offered as an option, is made after leaving the assembly lines and includes Kevlar, but also a series of hard steel panels. Dacia Duster will have a platform for drones and a rocket launcher.
The second version, a reconnaissance version, will benefit from the presence of a platform for launching drones. This version will have two seats. surprisingly, it can act like a real amphibian. It is completely waterproof and can – say those from Dacia Duster Trails – even float. It will have Level 4 armor in certain areas of the body, and the windows will come with Level 3 armor.
Dacia Duster reconnaissance can carry two attack drones and three reconnaissance drones. Attack drones can act as RO AG7 rocket launchers (RPG 7 produced under Romanian license) or can launch grenades. Drones can be fired from the rear of the vehicle when the rear sight is removed. They can communicate with each other through laser-based systems or with the help of copper wires. Radio communication should be avoided due to the risk of interception and interference. The project is being carried out in collaboration with a company specializing in the production of international defense electronics in Israel.
